The Lincoln Development Group Introduces “Park Street Station” A Planned Village Center Community
|
|
This conceptual plan is designed to meet the common interest in redeveloping a portion of the Five Corners in Essex Junction, Vermont while creating a new Village center for the future. This vision is one that is shared by the partners as well as the Village trustees and leadership. It is a rare opportunity when public support, municipal involvement and development opportunities all come together to create a unified vision for the future of a community.
It is our belief that the integration and embracing of the history of the village merged with a new vision of responsible growth will once again make the heart of Essex Junction a regional destination.

"A project of regional significance, Park Street Station will be a valuable economic engine to our state while successfully integrating many of the smart growth principals embraced by my administration."
James H. Douglas Governor of Vermont _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The overall Park Street Station design is for a planned pedestrian friendly, mixed-use and transit oriented community. The project is approximately 5 acres in size and is situated on the eastern side of Park Street, at “five corners”. In part, the site encompasses the historic Lincoln Inn building as well as the former “Flanders Hardware”. These important community landmarks would be preserved as a part of the overall redevelopment plan. The overall concept is to add to the existing village center and to create a pedestrian oriented, park-once “destination” where residents, visitors and workers will together, share the urban amenities of a historic New England village.

“These properties are an important underdeveloped asset in the core of the Village of Essex Junction. The Village is extremely interested in encouraging higher site utilization of the village core and these properties.”
